What it is

Manganese bound to amino acids, applying the chelate pattern to the trace metal behind cartilage and enzyme chemistry. The absorption advantage is real and, for a mineral this untroubled, mostly academic.

Why it's in pet food

Premixes tend to travel as families — a recipe using proteinated zinc and copper usually proteinates its manganese too. Consistency of premix is the actual signal.
