What it is
Milk from goats, sold for pets fresh, fermented, or dried. Its fat globules are smaller than cow's milk and its lactose modestly lower — real differences, routinely inflated into "lactose-free" and "hypoallergenic" claims that goat milk does not meet. Goat and cow milk proteins can also cross-react in genuinely dairy-allergic animals.
Why it's in pet food
A trendy topper and hydration treat with strong palatability. The claims to trust are the modest ones: many pets enjoy it and tolerate small servings. The claims to retire: allergy-safe, lactose-free, or a meal replacement — it is none of those. Raw goat milk additionally carries raw-milk pathogen risk; pasteurized is the boring, better choice.
