Who we are

Bowlmark is the trading name of the operator of bowlmark.com. Paid subscriptions are sold through Paddle, our Merchant of Record — Paddle is the seller of record for every payment and handles sales tax and VAT.

What Bowlmark is — and isn't

Bowlmark is an independent intelligence platform for what pet parents feed, buy, and pay: deterministic product scores computed by a fixed, published methodology, label and recall watching, price and vet-cost aggregates, and tools built on your own records.

Bowlmark is not veterinary advice. Nothing on Bowlmark — scores, Fit explanations, alerts, insights, or answers — is a diagnosis, a treatment, or a substitute for a licensed veterinarian. Always consult your vet about your pet's health, and never delay care because of something you read here.

Your account

You must be at least 16 to use Bowlmark. Keep your email address accurate — sign-in works by magic link, so your inbox is your key. You're responsible for what happens under your account.

Anonymous guest use is fully supported and upgrades to an account without losing anything. One account per person, please.

The free tier

Scanning, the Universal Score, recall alerts for what you scan, and contributing are free — permanently, for everyone. That's a design rule of the product, not a promotion, and the free tier never tightens.

Paid plans, trials & billing

Bowlmark Plus and Bowlmark Pro are subscriptions, monthly or annual, at the prices shown on the pricing page. They're sold through Paddle as Merchant of Record: Paddle processes the payment, handles sales tax and VAT, and sends your receipt. Card statements read PADDLE.NET* BOWLMARK.

Trials are 7 days and cost $0. About two days before a trial converts we email you the exact amount and the exact date; cancel before then and nothing is ever charged.

Cancel any time — two clicks from Settings, no retention maze. Whatever you've paid for runs to its end. Your price never goes up while you stay subscribed.

Refunds

Your first subscription payment carries a 14-day no-questions refund, self-serve from Settings → Your Plan and honored identically if you ask Paddle instead. The full policy is one page, in plain words.

Your content

You own what you upload — photos, journal entries, documents. You grant us the license needed to run the service: storing your content, processing it to build your scores and records, and showing it to you and anyone you explicitly share it with.

Contributions are different by intent: label photos and product data you contribute become part of the public catalog — that's the point of contributing. Shelf prices and vet-bill price data you opt in to share are stored as aggregates with zero linkage back to you, which also makes the sharing irreversible; the product says so again at the moment you opt in.

Journal and document photos are private by default. Don't upload content you don't have the right to share.

Reviews & community

Only people who have actually scanned a product may review it. Write honestly — incentivized or fabricated reviews are a bannable offense in both directions, positive and negative. Community answers pass moderation before they're public, and medical emergencies always route to emergency guidance, never to community advice alone.

Acceptable use

• No scraping, bulk export, or resale of the catalog or aggregates.
• No probing, abuse, rate-limit evasion, or interference with the service.
• No impersonation, and no accounts operated to manipulate reviews, rankings, or community surfaces.
• No unlawful use of any kind.

Scores, data & independence

Scores are computed only by the published, versioned methodology — nothing a brand can pay for affects a score, a rank, or a placement. Where an alternative carries an affiliate link, it's labeled, and it was ranked by score first.

Labels change, feeds lag, and people mistype: the data can contain errors. Where the data isn't sufficient, Bowlmark shows a confidence state instead of a number — and no score is a promise that a product is right for your pet.

Disclaimers & liability

Bowlmark is provided as-is. To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you paid Bowlmark in the 12 months before the claim arose (or $50 if you've paid nothing).

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law says can't be limited, and nothing here reduces consumer rights your local law gives you.

Ending things

You can export everything and delete your account any time from Settings — deletion is permanent and complete. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms (review fraud, abuse, scraping), with notice where practicable.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll say so — by email or in the app — at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Bowlmark after that means you accept the new terms.
